Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe! It features wide range of godlike characters with a comical yet thematically rich story full of adventures and action sequences. The heartfelt moments and friendship will be felt during the course of this adventure even to the viewers and have mesmerized the fans all these years and have created One-Piece fan base. To capture all these in a different filmmaking would take a toll on director’s career and for sure to make pirate’s adventure worth cherishing in a new live action adaptation from Netflix One Piece.
The Netflix’s One piece first season remake represents a concentrated retelling of the Eiichiro Oda’s artistic composition. The story center around a young Monkey D.Luffy(Iñaki Godoy) and his crew’s search for the legendary One Piece – a mysterious treasure to be searched in order to be get crowned as the next pirate king. The oda’s masterpiece are too long and elaborative to be stuffed into a eight-hour long episodes. Netflix’s One Piece tried to incorporate all Luffy’s origin story into a single season with flashback along each episode as per the crew’s search and their introduction along the story line. The Original story was spread across 95 chapters of the manga and 44 anime episode were used to create the Monkey D. Luffy magic. The whole Netflix season one was shrunk to contain as much information containing – how Luffy acquired the rubber like elasticity, the formation of his crew, the Straw Hat Pirates, and the initial voyage across the unknown sea to find the Grand Line.
The Netflix’s adaptation of One Piece is floating in somewhere in the middle trying to create as much fun and action to make the character liveable to bridge the gap. The show is entertaining as it’s created a unique live world and established the character faces for the upcoming season. The crew’s looks like the same as Anime. The visual effects to show the the gum gum elasticity of Luffy is visually appealing. For those who have not watched the Anime or even read the Oda’s Manga it will worth watching as they will be seeing the amzaing pirate adventure for the first time and there will be no questions asked as they will not be comparing anything from the original One Piece master.
The Cast is talented as they really pull out the same vibe as the Anime. The Monkey D. Luffy enthusiastic vibe is next to none and unbelievable and have the same version of his animated counterpart with all the comical, spot-on and delivering the fan favourite lines every now and then. Rorona Zoro – certainly looks the part of animated character only when fights and shows emotions. The Sanji the Straw Hats cook was phenomenal and have portrayed an amazing side of his live adaptation. The most standout character was the portrayal of Nami by Emily Rudd which was mischievous and have past trauma which she was fighting to reclaim his village from Arlong authority and have made all the sacrifice all these years.
Thanks to all the artist for making this artistic piece and for making me wait for the next season.
The Final Verdict
Netflix’s One Piece adaptation tried to recreate the same magic from the Oda’s master in live action but this requires striping pieces from the story plot. Now, we have one more variation of the long running manga and anime that works in part and the Netflix series will have its own path with different plots at the story helm. It will be a great to see how this turns out for the fans as this Netflix series has done an admirable job by showing all the visual affects which is appealing to the viewers and have done a tremendous job in bring the story under the great sea voyage of Grand Line.
