This move strengthens Apple’s growing presence in India, a market that’s becoming increasingly important for the tech giant. Apple opened its first physical stores in Mumbai and Delhi in 2023. The company plans to open four more stores in Bengaluru, Pune, and extra locations in Delhi and Mumbai. The company had already launched its online store in India back in 2020.
“At Apple, our customer is at the center of everything we do,” said Karen Rasmussen, Apple’s head of retail online. “We are thrilled to introduce the Apple Store app to reach even more users in India and deepen our connections.”
The app features dedicated sections for products, personalized recommendations, and support services. Customers can schedule online setup sessions with Apple specialists. They can sign up for free training at physical stores. Customers also have access to trade-in and financing options. For a personal touch, users can even add engravings in eight Indian languages to products like AirPods and iPads.
India is the second-largest smartphone market globally. It is a key focus for Apple as the company reduces its reliance on China for manufacturing. Apple began assembling iPhones in India in 2017 and has since expanded production through partners like Foxconn and Tata.
With the Apple Store app, the company aims to bring its premium shopping experience closer to Indian customers. This move solidifies its presence in one of the fastest-growing tech markets.
