Both trims include a three-year free subscription to advanced features. These features include Level 2+ driver aid. They also have an AI-powered personal assistant.

Limited Preorders: For Now, Just in California
The preorder choice is now available. Still, it’s only for California, USA residents. Buyers can reserve a spot in line by paying a refundable deposit of $200 (~₹16,500). The EV’s arrival date in the rest of the US states has not been announced yet. Similarly, there is no information for India or globally.

Afeela – Main Features and Specs

The Afeela 1 boasts some remarkable specifications, making it a strong competitor in the luxury EV market:

  • Range: Up to 300 miles (480 km) on a single charge
  • Charging: Built-in support for Tesla’s Supercharger network
  • Interior: Screens spanning the dashboard for a futuristic driving experience
  • Driving Assistance: Equipped with 40 sensors and cameras for semi-autonomous driving
  • Performance: All-wheel drive for optimal traction and speed
  • Tech Additions: Augmented reality integration and “virtual worlds” embedded into the driving experience

Interestingly, the car’s only paint choice is called Core Black, giving it a premium and sleek look.

Advanced Technology
Its stand out feature is that it responds to voice commands. In the CES demo, the Afeela CEO called the car onto the stage. He said, “Come on out, Afeela” on his phone. This is still in testing mode. But, it seems to give an idea of how interactive driving will be in this car.

Competition in the EV Market

As it enters the automobile market, Sony makes a new move, especially given the evolution in the EV space. The design of the Afeela incorporates elements from Tesla and Lucid Air. This fusion allows it to compete with major players in luxury EVs.

What It Means for India

Afeela is not available outside the US. Yet, this car shows the potential of future EVs. It showcases the best technology and sustainability. As EV adoption increases in India, vehicles like Afeela can inspire automakers. They integrate advanced features and luxury into their designs.

For now, Indian EV enthusiasts can keep an eye on global developments. They hope to see such premium vehicles enter our market in the coming years.
