If the Board contacts you

The Board works as a digital office. Inquiries must finish within 6 months (extendable by up to 3 months). Under Section 32 you may offer a voluntary undertaking; if accepted, proceedings on that matter can end. Orders can be appealed to the Appellate Tribunal digitally (Rule 22; the Act gives 60 days).

  1. Acknowledge on time and name one point of contact.
  2. Collect evidence from the evidence folder.
  3. Fix gaps immediately and record the date.
  4. Take legal advice before replying to formal notices.
  5. Consider a voluntary undertaking if you have a real gap.
  6. Check appeal deadlines on any order.
Government information demands (Rule 23)
The Central Government can require information for specified purposes and may bar you from telling the affected person. Do not ignore such a notice; get legal advice the same day.
